Cambodian Magic mushroom (Psilocybe Cubensis)
What Are Cambodian Psilocybe Cubensis Mushrooms?
As the name may suggest (Cambodian Magic Mushroom), this species of magic mushrooms originates from Cambodia. It was discovered by the mycologist, John Allen, during one of his trips to the country. Found to be an extremely fast colonizing strain of mushrooms, the Cambodian Psilocybe Cubensis is known for producing an energetic trip highlighted by feelings of euphoria.
Magic Mushroom Family
Psilocybe Cubensis Cambodia mushrooms are part of the Psilocybe Cubensis family.
This family of mushrooms contains over 180 different strains, including strains like the popular Golden Teachers and B mushrooms. This family of magic mushrooms is characterized by their golden caps that grow to be one to three inches in diameter, dark purple spores, grey gills, and stems that grow four to six inches tall.
Psilocybe Cubensis is the most well-known family of magic mushrooms and is simply referred to as magic mushrooms, even though there are other lesser-known varieties. All species of mushrooms in the Psilocybe Cubensis family contain the active compounds psilocin and psilocybin, which give them their hallucinogenic effects.
Psilocybe Cambodian Shroom Potency
Psilocybe Cubensis Cambodia mushrooms are one of the more potent species of cubes. Although they are not the most potent strain of trippy shrooms, they boast the ability to produce an extraordinarily euphoric trip.
Cambodian Magic Mushroom Effects
When the onset of the trip begins, the following effects may happen visual distortions, enhanced feelings of creativity, an increased appreciation for art and music, open-eye and closed-eye hallucinations, a general sense of delight, a surge of happiness, and more. An effect that is unique to Psilocybe Cubensis Cambodia mushrooms is the feeling of energetic high coursing through your body. This sensation is very prominent and warm and is one of the reasons why this species of magic mushrooms is described as very potent. It’s important to note that the feeling of energy is exceptionally smooth, not abrupt or overly electrical.
Psilocybe Cubensis Cambodia mushrooms may also cause a few physiological effects that include pupil dilation, a change in heart and blood pressure, and more. Some of the neutral side effects that may be caused by taking Psilocybe Cubensis Cambodia mushrooms are a distortion in time, sensitivity to light, and more.
There is also a potential that these magic mushrooms will cause negative side effects such as dizziness, headache, nausea, trouble controlling motor functions, inability to focus on cognitive tasks, lightheadedness, disorientation, etc.
Cambodian Magic Mushroom Benefits
Individuals suffering from depression, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder have also reported positive benefits from using Psilocybe Cubensis Cambodia mushrooms. Although there is no documented evidence of benefits to taking psilocybin mushrooms in the literature, more and more scientists and researchers across the planet are studying the potential benefits of taking psychedelic mushrooms.
Researchers have particularly homed in on studying how psilocybin mushrooms may help those suffering from mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder. One study completed in the early 2000s reported that patients who took psilocybin mushrooms and had psychological support experienced reduced symptoms of depression after two weeks. Another similar study found that a small group of patients with OCD who didn’t respond to conventional serotonin reuptake inhibitor drug therapy experienced a reduction in their symptoms when taking psilocybin.
How to Take Psilocybe Cubensis Cambodian Shrooms
Psilocybe Cambodian mushrooms are best eaten whole, taken in microdoses or consumed in psilocybin tea. For microdosing, it is possible to eat the mushrooms in small doses (only around 0.1 grams), but there are also magic mushroom pills and capsules that come in pre-allocated microdoses, making the process especially simple.
To take the mushrooms in tea, boil 1.5-2 cups of water. Once the water reaches a boil, add the dried Psilocybe Cubensis Cambodian shrooms, reduce the water to a simmer and allow the shrooms to steep for 10-15 minutes.
Psilocybe Cubensis Cambodian Shroom Dosage
Beginning with around one gram of Cambodian shrooms is a good place to start if you intend to eat them whole. If you are taking them in tea, use one dried gram for every cup of water.
These dosages are extremely generalized, but there are also many magic mushroom dosage calculators online that help determine an accurate dosage based on your body weight and other physiological factors as well as the type of mushroom you have.
Final Thoughts
The Psilocybe Cubensis Cambodian strain of magic mushrooms produces a uniquely energetic trip that is smooth and long-lasting. They pose many positive effects and are a favorite among many shroom users. Although they are not the most potent strain of magic mushrooms, they are a must-try strain.

I typically smoke this as a pre-roll. I’m fairly new to smoking, so only 3-4 hits will get me comfortably high. It’s a pretty good strain overall, but anymore than 3-4 hits will have me in an uncomfortable position. I’ll experience heavy numbing over my entire body, and panic attacks. Like I said, pretty good strain.

Very potent smell! Smells fruity and strong! The hit is smooth, and hits hard. I had this in flower form. I was VERY ALERT AND TALKATIVE! But was able to focus. And complete some tasks I also had the munchies, out of this world. 🤣🥞🍳🥨🍟🌭🍔🍕🌮🍢🍥🍪🧃🍿🧋🫖🍨🎂🍫

Review for Zamaldelica [Zamal x Golden Tiger (Malawi x Meao Thai)]: This 100% sativa strain is pure adventure fuel! By a long shot, this is the clearest, most uplifting weed I’ve ever smoked – far more than Durban Poison, Hazes, Kali Mist or any other sativa strains I’ve tried. It imparts a happy, clear, truly get up and go feel that is perfect for activity and alleviating depression. The buds are thin, wispy, and airy with a piney, pungent, and almost minty aroma and flavor. Coated in the tiniest, clearest trichs, quite sticky to handle. The smoke is so smooth, inducing very little coughing. This strain has been available at a couple different dispensaries in the Portland area. I picked up my sample from GreenSky Collective, tested at about 20% thc. This strain is fun. It’s the only strain I’ve ever tried that leaves me with no hesitation in undertaking any physical, intellectual, and social tasks – it almost leaves me feeling mentally sharper than before imbibing. It is inspiring and invigorating. Seek out this strain for all your day time, work, or social applications – it is pure fun!

I am a second generation and grew up smoking “Bhangi” as we call it in Swahili and you are spot on! I love my Kenyan bush weed it is everything you said a totally different state of mind and can be a bit overwhelming at times. I am a California Resident now and have been a would love to see more landrace strains. As you said hybrid genetics are making there way to fields across the world everyday and altering natural genetics forever. Smoke them while you can!! Jah Bless

As mentioned large differance between various African strains, especialy in South Africa. Very very good strains from Swaziland & South Eastern parts. Indica like is also to be had, like some reviews state some of herb to be found is real rubish mostly sativa crap. But some beats the shit out of best strains in US!! Have had in lots o places around the world but still stick to naturl wild 420 from Swaziland area. Havn been smokn and plantn in South Africa 20 yers+ there good plants to be had some can even handle temp. well past 40 deg C. Unfortuntly still not legal in SA. But some wild seed if wanted mighty be able 2 to b shared if need be, not forsale but to SHARE to those developn new strains in US. If ya have way of gettn it to ya I would gladly share. So there ya hav it some super good stuff to b had if one nows where to get. B good and enjoy

🔥 • this review is for an 85.3%-THC Sour African/South African Skunk wax, which apparently is a cross of African Haze & AJ’s Sour Diesel. [CT MMJ Sat Z, from Advanced Grow Labs] • 🔥 • almost-immediate cessation + relief from nausea & anxiety, while pain has decreased from 7 to a 4, so i can’t complain; high terp-profile on (AJ’s) Sour Diesel ensures a MOST-delicious flavor; and the cerebral high|euphoria makes this strain a very special treat! • 👌🏻🌌

Very heavy high. Cheap weed that comes by the truckload at a time. Over here we call it Swazi, having two main strains Swazi red and swaz gold

I’m smoking Kwazulu now which is from South Africa. my first pure sativa. Decent strength, long lasting and careless high that’s good for giggles and dumb jokes. M-m-munchie-e-es… Flowers really fast but can grow very tall if you let it. Little to no couch lock. need to try this at the party or a walk by foot. I guess it’s energetic…

I’m on a trip in Togo at the moment and this is the only strain I found so far. After a few minutes I started to feel the high slowly kicking in and its a quite nice feeling nit overwhelming. I would say that it smells and tastes like Africa, a but earthy, its really nice. I picked up different times and the colour changed a bit but it was always quite brown and dry but not harsh for the throat, its really smooth. After two joints the high is amazing, probably one of the best in my life, everything becomes so happy and beautiful and I’d say its really good for people who feels quite low as it is really euphoric. I have never seen this strain in Europe yet but who ever finds some I highly recommend them to try it !

I had some Angola gold. The taste and smell were really good. But the effects were lacking a little. I would chose something else next time.

The high is very tingly and hits harshly. It also doesn’t last long. It also makes me extremely sleepy afterwards and leaves and irritating headache that lingers.

The most impressive part of a Kenyan strain was the amount of crystals on the flower. It actually looked like a geode in the random crevices of the bud. I concentrated some BHO from it, and the crystals were sparkling in the wax, after the butane evaporated, and it was chilling in my silicon tray. The concentrate is awesome, and it has a strong flavor of garlic to me, and a hint of a black pepper taste. It gives me a long, fairly energetic high, but as a concentrate, it’s a little harsh on my lungs, not my throat though. It’s an excellent strain. The only reason I know it’s a Kenyan strain (African on Leafly), is because I tested it with a cannabloic fingerprint test kit. It was pretty much an exact match for the fingerprint provided in the manual for a Kenyan strain. Only after reading on Leafly did I learn the “African” strains have the highest levels of THCV, which was confirmed on the fingerprint test I did.
